Title BRIOATLAS - Portugal (Atlas do Briófitos de Portugal)
Funding Fundo EDP Biodiversidade 2008
Design Description Bryophyte taxa are classified to the highest rank. The taxonomic critera followed Goffinet et al., (2009) for all ranks from Division to Family Mosses The criteria used for the inclusion of the several genera were almost exclusively based in Goffinet et al. (2008) for mosses, excluding: Coscinodon Spreng., Micromitrium Austin, Ephemerum Schimp., Ptychostomum Hornsch., Sarmentypnum Tuom. & T.J.Kop., Loeskeobryum Broth., Nogopterium Crosby & W.R.Buck, Metaneckera Steere. e Cyclodictyon Mitt. (included in Hookeriales M.Fleisch. and Pilotrichaceae Kindb.). Liverworts and hornworts For liverworts it was used Crandall-Stotler et al., [2008] 2009 and for hornworts Renzaglia et al., 2008. At the species and infraspecific levels, the nomenclature used was, whenever possible, based in Hill et al. (2006) for mosses and Grolle & Long (2000) for liverworts and hornworts. Taxa is presented in alphabetic order by division: mosses (Bryophyta), liverworts (Marchantiophyta) and hornworts (Anthocerotophyta). The scientific name authorship followed Brummit & Powell (1992).
